PEBA/Na-X Multilayer Hybrid Membrane for CO2 Separation: Influence of Na-X Zeolite Layer Synthesis Condition

The effects of synthesis time and the number layers were investigated on Na-X zeolite sublayer for fabricating a PEBA/Na-X hybrid membrane. CO2/N2 separation was considered as objective function to obtain an effective sublayer. SEM AFM studies synthesized sublayers reveal that 6 hour one layer give (ZSL6-1) with sub-micron thickness (< 1µm), roughness 13 nm. N2 permeation (11900 GPU) shows low mass transfer resistance through ZSL6-1 in structure membrane leads high stability multilayer via anchoring effect polymer. Hydroxyl groups, along positive negative charges surface sublayer, cause strong bonding polymer prevent its delamination. coverage by has increased just increase perm-selectivity. These properties, affinity adsorption CO2, results 56% perm-selectivity (~70) compared net PEBA (~40-50) recently reported membranes.
